The Shaykh Al-Albani’s remarks on the Ibadiyyah who denied the speech of Allah and seeing Him on the Day of Resurrection.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : There is no doubt that the Ibadiyyah, and everyone who adheres to their opinion and creed that the speech of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is created—including this miraculous Qur'an, which is also created—and those who deny the possibility of the believers seeing their Lord
(88) The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children (89) But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." يوم لا ينفع مال ولا بنون إلا من أتى الله بقلب سليم
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:88-89]
, these deniers are clearly misguided. This is because the Qur'an is truly the speech of Allah, not a created thing, and because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) bestows a favor upon His believing servants by manifesting Himself to them on the Day of Resurrection and when the Muslims enter Paradise. This denial is misguidance, and it is very clear. As for whether this misguidance constitutes disbelief and apostasy from the religion, we say: whoever has the evidence made clear to him and then denies it is a disbeliever who has apostatized from his religion. But whoever denies it [without such clarity] is in misguidance. It is not our concern to say that such-and-such a person or such-and-such a group of people are disbelievers. It is sufficient for us to say that they are misguided, because the objective is to guide them so that they realize they are in error and in misguidance, and thus return to the truth. So, regarding the statement of the one who says that those who declare the Ibadiyyah disbelievers have not declared them disbelievers with evidence—meaning there is no text in the Qur'an or the Sunnah stating that the Ibadiyyah are disbelievers—of course, no such text exists, neither regarding the Ibadiyyah nor the Mu'tazilah, nor [any other group], and so on. However, whoever denies what is known from the religion by necessity, and holds that belief, is undoubtedly in a state of disbelief.
