The discussion on the intifada in Palestine, and on preparing for the disbelievers.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : What is your opinion on what is called the intifada in Palestine, and what is the ruling on those who are killed in it? And is it obligatory for the Muslims there to support this intifada by participating in it?

The Shaykh : Is it obligatory for the Muslims there, you say?

The questioner : Yes, yes, in Palestine.

The Shaykh : What happened there? What is it that happened?

The questioner : I say, is it obligatory?

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And is it obligatory for the Muslims there to support this intifada by participating in it, interacting with it, and escalating it? And what is our position regarding it?

The Shaykh : My answer to this question has been known for years. I believe that this intifada is not legitimate (shar'i) and falls under the general scope of the previous discussion, because they have not prepared for it, neither spiritually nor materially. The best of speech is what is little and instructive.

The questioner : I mean, it is not prescribed there... to confront the occupation...

The Shaykh : It is not possible. But you have limited the issue to Palestine. Those in Palestine cannot do anything, but it is obligatory for the Muslim world to support the Palestinians, and this does not exist. But your question is limited to the intifada and the Palestinians, and this is my answer. I see no difference between jihad in Afghanistan and jihad in Palestine; both must be supported. But I see a great difference between jihad in Palestine, if there is any jihad, and the existing jihad in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, as we know, the way was open for Afghanistan for other Muslims from all Islamic countries to assist those Muslims. The way was open, and perhaps it is beginning to narrow and may be closed. But in Palestine, it is completely closed, so they cannot be supplied with what they need to be supplied with, whether people or weapons. In light of this painful reality, I say that this intifada in Palestine does not benefit them at all. Rather, a Jew is killed and in return dozens of Muslims are killed, besides those who are imprisoned and those who are tortured, and so on. The important thing is that preparation is necessary. I understand the well-known verse that many preachers constantly recite and then forget its essence, which is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy وأعدوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوة ومن رباط الخيل ترهبون به عدو الله و عدوكم
[Al-Anfal 8:60]
The apparent meaning is very clear, and it is material preparation. This is not achieved in Palestine or in any other country where some of those young people are enthusiastic and want to stand up and fight the tyrants. What did these young people do? Did they achieve this verse in its explicit meaning? They cannot. If they cannot, can they stand before the tyrants, or are they required to stand before the tyrants without weapons? This is the material preparation that everyone understands from this verse. But there is something else that occurs to me as a correct meaning, though people do not pay attention to it, in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And prepareوأعدوا
To whom is the address? The address is undoubtedly to the believers who have prepared what they can of spiritual, religious, and moral preparation in their souls. These are the ones who were addressed:
And prepare against them whatever you are able وأعدوا لهم ما استطعتم
[Al-Anfal 8:60]
So, when we encourage people with this verse, do we draw their attention to the fact that this verse addresses those who have prepared the first preparation, which is psychological preparation? And on this occasion, I like that word that came from some leaders of a famous party today, but the party did not benefit from this wisdom, which is his saying: "Establish the state of Islam in your hearts, and it will be established for you on your land." Now, those who want to do jihad, if we assume they are sincere in their jihad, in whatever country they are, they have not prepared the spiritual means so that they can later, even if it takes a long time, prepare the material means which is explicit in the previous verse.
And make ready against them all you can of power.وأعدوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوة
Sunan Ibn Majah 2813Sahih (Darussalam)
It came in the authentic hadith, the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Beware, strength consists in archery. Beware, strength consists in archery. Beware, strength consists in archery. ألا إن القوة الرمي ,ألا ان القوة الرمي , ألا إن القوة الرمي
Sahih Muslim 1917
There is no doubt that the shooting intended in this hadith is the shooting known at that time, which is shooting with arrows and spears. Today, this type of old weapon has no effect. But is there shooting with new weapons? Is this prepared by any group, especially the one that declares itself and calls itself the group of jihad? These people, my brothers, cannot rise to implement this verse as long as they live under the rule of a disbeliever, as they themselves declare. So what should they do? They should do what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and his noble Companions did at the beginning of the call: establish the group on the correct Islamic creed, on Islamic morals, and on Islamic behavior. And I firmly believe that those who call themselves the group of jihad are not on one heart, as were the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who gathered around him (peace and blessings be upon him). By them, he was able to fight the disbelievers. And the disbelievers, I mean, were more in number and strength than them, and yet Allah the Mighty and Majestic gave them victory because they were on one word and on correct upbringing. The history of the Prophet's biography, as we all know, contains lessons. When they neglected one of the orders of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Battle of Uhud, the outcome nearly turned against them. And in the Battle of Hunayn, when they deviated from Islamic behavior and were pleased with their large numbers, that also became a calamity for them. Where are the Muslims today who are united in a group on this correct Islamic upbringing? I believe that people today are heedless and unaware of these facts. They think that mere enthusiasm is what will give them victory. But as they say in our region (Sham), when the heavy load is placed and things become serious, then it will be seen whether they were on rock or on sand beneath them. And unfortunately, it saddens me to give an example of the parties in Afghanistan. Afghanistan today, unfortunately, is to be feared for, entirely because of the unity and division, as if they had not read the Qur'an:
and do not be of those who associate others with Allah (32) [Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects ولا تكونوا من المشركين من الذين فرّقوا دينهم و كانوا شيعا
[Ar-Rum 30:31-32]
And therefore, rising up is not possible except on the basis of unity. How are you, Shaykh Salah? (laughs)... My friend.

The questioner : My friend wept when he saw

The Shaykh : the road ahead of him

The questioner : and thought

The Shaykh : and thought we would be caught by Qaysar, so I said to him

The questioner : Do not weep, O eye, for we are only trying for a kingdom, or we die and are excused

The Shaykh : We are trying for a kingdom. Allahu Akbar.

The questioner : This pre-Islamic person is narrating

The Shaykh : In the Tahrir Party, they explicitly declare the establishment of an Islamic state, then purification and upbringing. It is one of the strangest things a person can say. I used to mock them, saying: On a moonless night, the state of the Tahrir Party will rise. According to the European traditions they follow, what do they call the decision that will be issued?

Another questioner : A statement.

The Shaykh : Statement number one. The Tahrir Party does not want to make a party; it wants to overturn society. The state is in his possession. Number one: It is not permissible for a woman to go out displaying her adornment. The first to violate this decision will be the women of the group themselves.

The questioner : Strange.

The Shaykh : Because they did not raise them on this basis.
Al-Halabi : I say, because there is no caliph, by his sayingThe Shaykh : after their caliph

The questioner : They say there is no male authority over the woman except after the establishment of the state.

Another questioner:

The Shaykh : This is it. Well, what are we waiting for?
