What is the ruling on racing the imam in saying "Ameen"? And what is the reason for the Muslims' negligence regarding their religious affairs?

The Shaykh : Perhaps you have learned in some of the gatherings that I spent the last two months traveling in Saudi Arabia, and I found this error to be the same here as it is in Syria and in Egypt, yes; so the people are in negligence, and the reason for this negligence first goes back to the negligence of the scholars of knowledge, and their negligence may be double; so I say that the negligence of the scholars is sometimes double and sometimes single; for many of the scholars studied fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) in isolation from the Sunnah, even though some of them studied fiqh in conjunction with the study of the Sunnah; so the majority of them study fiqh based on the study of the Sunnah, and it is very self-evident that when we mention fiqh in contrast to the Sunnah, we mean traditional fiqh, otherwise there is no separation between the Sunnah and the correct Prophetic fiqh; so those who study the madhhab (school of jurisprudence) fiqh, if they study the Sunnah, they study it from a distance and in a manner that does not contain the understanding of fiqh that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended in his well-known authentic hadith: Sahih Muslim 1037a For this reason, many of the Sunnahs are missed by them, even though they are known in the Sunnah and in the authentic hadiths and are neglected in the reality of the Islamic world, and this is much and very much, and this widespread phenomenon in all the mosques, in all the lands of Islam, is sufficient for us now, I do not exclude from it even the Sacred Mosque or the Prophet's Mosque; so the racing of the followers to their imam in saying "Ameen" is a very clear phenomenon and contradicts his saying (peace be upon him) which we mentioned earlier: Sunan Abi Dawud 936Sahih (Al-Albani) And so it was suggested to me when I heard two different voices in the "Ameen" behind the imam, a voice that contradicts the hadith and a voice that conforms to the hadith, it was suggested to me that it is necessary to remind the brothers, about whom I said earlier that they are strangers in this land but they are not strangers to us, for they are of us and we are of them, and we are all, if Allah wills, upon the Book and the Sunnah, but a person is strong with his brother, and the believer is a mirror for the believer, so he helps him to discover what he may not see of his faults or faults; and so I say it was suggested to me that you are the first who may have become accustomed to this custom prevalent in the Islamic world to accustom yourselves before you alert others to not racing the imam in this matter, just as you are accustomed to not racing the imam in other matters, and this is undoubtedly by paying attention to the imam's recitation, for the imams differ in their methods of reciting al-Fatihah (Surat al-Fatihah), so some of them recite it quickly like this poetry, and some of them recite it with tartam (melodic recitation) as Allah said: [Al-Muzzammil 73:4] and some are in between; then from some of the details that fall under this generalization, some of the imams lengthen the soft madd in for two movements, and some lengthen it for four movements, and some for six movements; so this requires of the followers something very important, which is that their mind, heart, and intellect be with the imam's recitation, perhaps he will lengthen it for two movements, perhaps he will lengthen it for six, perhaps he will lengthen it for four; so when the imam finishes reciting "wa-d-dallin" (and the astray) and you hear him stopping the noon here, you must imagine, if it is not easy for you to hear, and often it is not easy for you to hear the imam's loud "Ameen" for one reason or another, the imam may be from the extremists of some of the madhabs who contradict the Sunnah in their leaving off the loud "Ameen," and they see that the Sunnah is to keep it secret, so you do not hear the imam's loud "Ameen" in this case, and then it is sufficient for you to pay attention to observing the preceding, if you hear the imam stopping the "Ameen," then take a breath in yourselves for the amount of time he says "Ameen" secretly, then you say "Ameen" with him, this is if he does not say it loudly; but if he says it loudly, the excuse for contradiction is further, because in this case, the first thing we hear is the alif of "Ameen" from the imam, we proceed with him, on the basis that some scholars went to the opinion that it is better that we wait for the imam to finish saying "Ameen," meaning according to the previous detail, as we said, we do not start with "Ameen" until we hear the imam's certainty of the noon of "wa-d-dallin," on the second opinion in interpreting "say," meaning we, the followers, do not start with "Ameen" except if we hear the imam stopping the noon of "Ameen"; there is no doubt that this opinion is more cautious in avoiding falling into racing the imam and in achieving the matter that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) conditioned upon the imam's saying This is more cautious; but the apparent and stronger opinion is that we should not delay this entire delay, and rather the important thing is that we do not precede the imam by starting with "Ameen" before he starts, as is the reality today, so if we practice this practically, then it is permissible for us to convey this Sunnah by transmitting the hadith and practical teaching in this manner that you have just heard Sunan Abi Dawud 936Sahih (Al-Albani) It is not hidden from you, in my belief, that contradicting the Prophetic command is disobedience to the saying of the Exalted: [An-Nur 24:63] But many people may not care about the contradiction as they care when they feel that there is a great loss in the contradiction, which is that they lose their eligibility for the forgiveness of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) that is conditioned upon following the imam with "Ameen" Sunan Abi Dawud 936Sahih (Al-Albani) And the meaning of this hadith is that the angels who attend the mosques and attend the five prayers in two known shifts are not like the humans who are created for disobedience; so the angels are not like that, because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) described them by His saying: [At-Tahrim 66:6] Based on this, they do not race the imam, so they do not say "Ameen" before the imam's "Ameen"; so when the followers do the action of the angels and their "Ameen" coincides with the "Ameen" of the angels, and this is undoubtedly a hidden matter that we do not feel or perceive, but from the information of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in this hadith, we know that the angels say after the imam starts with "Ameen," they say, so if we do their action and agree with them in their "Ameen," that is a reward for us with Allah that Allah forgives our sins; and this is a very great gain, if, as I say on this occasion and others, if a Muslim lived the life of Noah (peace be upon him), which is more than a thousand years except fifty years, just for Allah to forgive him, he would be the winner, so what do you think of this forgiveness that the Muslim only attains by paying attention to the imam's recitation and following his saying ; then starting with this imam with "Ameen," he proceeds with him in "Ameen," neither preceding him nor delaying, may Allah forgive him, what Allah willed, this is a very great gain; so let the present convey to the absent, so accustom yourselves with us in implementing this Prophetic command, and then let your concern afterwards be that you convey to those behind you, and excuse us for having detained you from your food, so please, please.
