Explanation of the Hadith: (There will be among my Ummah people who will consider intoxicants lawful)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And regarding what many Muslims are doing today, where they consider lawful what Allah has forbidden, listen to His saying (peace and blessings be upon him)
There will be among my Ummah people who will consider lawful the hara ليكونن في أمتي أقوام يستحلون الحرة
Sahih Ibn Hibban 62:638
They consider lawful the hara, meaning the private parts, meaning zina
There will be among my Ummah people who will consider lawful the hara, silk, intoxicants, and musical instruments. They will spend their nights in amusement and play, and they will rise in the morning having been transformed into apes and pigs. ليكوننّ في أمتي أقوام يستحلون الحرة و الحرير و الخمر و المعازف يمسون في لهو و لعب و يصبحون و قد مسخوا قردة و خنازير
because they have considered lawful an act that Allah the Exalted has forbidden, such as the Red Nights group who walk in amusement and play, in drinking intoxicants, mixing with women, being indecent with them, singing, and entertainment, and the like. They spend their nights and mornings having been transformed into apes and pigs. So his saying (peace be upon him) "they consider lawful" means practically. Therefore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to consider lawful any act of what Allah the Exalted has forbidden, whether it is altering Allah's creation or committing what Allah has forbidden, such as riba, theft, drinking intoxicants, and the like.
