Giving other examples from the Sunnah that warn against naming some of the forbidden things by names other than their own, as mentioned in the hadith

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And there are other examples of this that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) warned us about in some authentic hadiths, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
There will certainly be among my Ummah people who drink intoxicants and call them by a name other than their own ليكونَنَّ في أمَّتي أقوام يشربون الخمر يسمُّونها بغير اسمها
. This is a clear matter, and it is a great piece of news that indicates the truthfulness of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in his prophethood; for he informed us of many things that will happen in the last times, among them that a group of people will drink intoxicants while calling them by a name other than their own. In some Islamic countries, unfortunately, they call them “alcoholic beverages,” “alcoholic beverages,” and some of them call them “...” and similar soft terms that entice their owners to consume and drink them.
And it is not just this; many Muslims have strayed and were tested due to their extreme heedlessness and their distance from the hadiths of their Prophet by naming other things by names other than their own. So in this hadith there is an indication that if Muslims come in a time when they resort to the slightest of tricks to commit what Allah has forbidden, then that is what they deserve to be humiliated for; that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will humiliate them through others who were previously humiliated by the Muslims. This is one of the types of diseases and ailments that the Messenger (peace be upon him) mentioned in this hadith...
