How does a person seek knowledge? Then he spoke about pretentiousness in knowledge.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : How does a person begin to seek knowledge?

The Shaykh : By Allah, my brother, this is a question whose answer is not easy. If the student of knowledge lives in a country where there are scholars, he must visit them and benefit from their knowledge and experiences. If there are no scholars, he should study any science through personal study, but the truth is that this is not easy, because it requires that this student possess strong determination and will, patience, and perseverance in studying many books in that science, and that he be free to devote himself to it, and specifically that he not be weak in his job, because he will not be able to specialize.

The questioner : Like you, O Shaykh.
Al-Halabi : The Shaykh : He means, "When did you enslave people when their mothers bore them free?" ... One of our brothers, a student of knowledge, who is Jordanian from here, he isThe Shaykh : 'Abd al-Ghani al-Tamimi. We brought him to your house, O our Shaykh. He is a researcher who completed his doctoral thesis. In any case, he is a student of knowledge and a researcher with intelligence, what Allah willed, Blessed and Exalted is He. He was intellectually fluctuating, but recently he settled on the good Salafi scientific methodology.

The Shaykh : Good.
Al-Halabi : He tells me that their neighbor is 'Abdullah al-Sa'd.

The Shaykh : Ah

The questioner : That their neighbor in Riyadh

The Shaykh : Yes.
Al-Halabi : said, "I am amazed by 'Abdullah al-Sa'd, meaning in his speech.

The Shaykh : Ah

The questioner : He said, when he mentionsThe Shaykh : Nasir, he says, "And al-Albani said." And when he mentions a man named 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Dakhithi, he says, "And our Shaykh al-Dakhithi said," even though al-Dakhithi is no more than a student among al-Albani's students. So how can these two contradictory things be combined?!
