Explanation of the mention of examples of various dhikr.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, let us give an example: The tasbih after the prayer has four forms:
The first form: Say "Subhan Allah" (Glory be to Allah), "Alhamdulillah" (Praise be to Allah), and "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) thirty-three times each. What is the total? Ninety-nine. And to complete the hundred, you say: "La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir" (There is no deity except Allah, alone, without partner; to Him belongs dominion and to Him belongs praise, and He is over all things competent).
The second form: Say "Subhan Allah" thirty-three times, "Alhamdulillah" thirty times, and "Allahu Akbar" thirty-four times. What is this? One hundred.
The third form: Say "Subhan Allah," "Alhamdulillah," "La ilaha illa Allah," and "Allahu Akbar" twenty-five times each. What is the total? The total is one hundred.
The fourth form: Say "Subhan Allah" ten times, "Alhamdulillah" ten times, and "Allahu Akbar" ten times. The total is thirty.
This last form is sometimes easier for a person because it is lighter for him. For example, if he has work, if he continues to remember with the other three forms, he might be delayed from his work. And if he stands up and starts to say tasbih while walking, he might forget and the tasbih might be lost. But if he says this form—Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar—ten times each, it becomes easier for him, and he completes the dhikr without it being interrupted by his work.
So, it is clear how these forms are sometimes easier for the one who is obligated, and the student says it. Yes. Tell me how this was easier for the one who is obligated in some cases.
The student: ... If, for example, he is in a hurry and says it, for example, a hundred times... it might be difficult for him... and it would be easier for him.

The Shaykh : Perfect. So, brothers, we said that after the takbir of ihram, what does one do? He begins with the istiftah, and the istiftah has various forms, of which we mentioned two.
