The state of discontent and impatience and its forms.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Impatience is clear when a person is struck by a calamity and becomes impatient and discontented. The sign of this is either in speech or in action; that is, the sign of impatience is either verbal or physical. Among the verbal signs are cursing time, reviling time, and invoking woe and destruction upon oneself, along with similar invocations of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance. As for the physical signs, they include pulling out hair, slapping cheeks, tearing garments, and scratching the chest, among similar acts. Is this patience or impatience? It is impatience. Therefore, impatience is being discontented with the divine decree and destiny of Allah and not accepting it in one's heart, and its sign is either verbal or physical.
