The student: In the morning
The Shaykh : We praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness, and repent to Him. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the badness of our deeds. Whom Allah guides, none can mislead, and whom He leaves to mislead, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, ... and he fulfilled the trust and advised the Ummah, and he struggled in the cause of Allah with true struggle. May the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: O my brothers, we praise Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for having kept us alive until we reached these last ten days of Ramadan. We ask the Exalted to complete what remains and to make it an increase in the good deeds of our actions. Indeed, among the blessings of Allah upon a servant is that He lengthens his life in the obedience of Allah. If a person remains in this world and utilizes his time in the obedience of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), then Allah is more generous than His servant. A good deed is rewarded with ten times its like, up to seven hundred times, up to many times. And a bad deed is recorded as one like it, and it is under the forgiveness of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), as the Exalted said: [An-Nisa 4:48]
