A word by the Shaykh regarding the Night of Decree and its virtue.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We praise Him and seek His help, and we seek His forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own selves and from the badness of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whoever He misguides, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. Allah the Exalted sent him with guidance and the religion of truth, so he conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, advised the Muslim community, and struggled in the cause of Allah with the right struggle. May the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows, O my brothers, it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Whoever stands in prayer during the Night of Decree out of faith and seeking reward, Allah will forgive him what has passed of his sins. من قام ليلة القدر إيمانا واحتسابا غفر الله له ما تقدم من ذنبه
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:853
One who stands in prayer during it out of faith in Allah and in what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed about it, and seeking the reward that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) assigned for standing in prayer during it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not make it a condition for this reward to be established that a person must know the specific night. So if a person is guided and stands in prayer on the Night of Decree out of faith and seeking reward, he will attain this reward whether he knew it was the Night of Decree or not. And whoever stands in prayer during all the nights of the last ten days out of faith and seeking reward, he will attain its reward, because the Night of Decree does not fall outside the nights of the last ten days, as is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). With this great glad tidings, joy is attained for the believer, as he hopes from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to attain its reward and holds a good opinion of Him. For Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is in accordance with the opinion His servant has of Him, as is established in the Holy Hadith that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they أنا عند ظن عبدي به وأنا معه إذا ذكرني فإن ذكرني في نفسه ذكرته في نفسي وإن ذكرني في ملأ ذكرته في ملأ خير منهم
Sahih al-Bukhari 7405
So do well, O Muslims, hold a good opinion of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), hold a good opinion of your Lord. For Allah the Exalted did not guide you to action except to bestow upon you the blessing of success. O my brothers, what a person should strive for at the conclusion of this blessed month is to always be eager to ask Allah for acceptance. For if a servant’s deed is not accepted from him, it will be wasted in vain. And there is a fasting person whose share from his fasting is only thirst, and there is a person who stands in prayer whose share from his standing is only sleeplessness. We ask Allah for well-being.
