The Superiority of Deeds According to Their Type

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The first reason is the nobility of the deed, for deeds vary in their nobility. The highest and noblest deeds are the obligatory acts and duties, as stated in the Qudsi hadith, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated from his Lord, in which He the Exalted said:
And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him ما تقرب إلي عبدي بشيء أحب إلي مما افترضته عليه
Sahih al-Bukhari 6502
And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him ما تقرب إلي عبدي بشيء أحب إلي مما افترضته عليه
Sahih al-Bukhari 6502
Here, the superiority is according to the type of deed, meaning that the type of deeds which are obligatory acts is superior to the type of deeds which are voluntary acts.
