Explaining the Meaning of Wisdom

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So what is the wisdom we always hear about? The wisdom we hear about is placing things in their proper places, because it is derived from *ihkam* (precision), which means perfection. Perfection is not achieved unless a thing is in its proper place. Therefore, everything that Allah has decreed is in its proper place; nothing can be suitable for a place other than what Allah has decreed. Everything that Allah has legislated, whether obligatory, forbidden, disliked, recommended, or permissible, is in its proper place. It is not possible for something other than the obligatory to be more suitable in the place of the obligatory than the obligatory itself is in its place, and so it is with the rest of the rulings. Likewise, with the rest of the cosmic decree, nothing can take its place that is more fitting or more beneficial for the servants in their worldly life and their hereafter.
