Holding Fast to the Rope of Allah and Avoiding Division
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The true holding fast that does not break is holding fast to the rope of Allah, as Allah the Exalted said: [Ali 'Imran 3:103] Holding fast to the rope of Allah, which is Islam, is what unites the Ummah. As for holding fast to anything other than Islam, that never benefits the Ummah, and the Ummah will never unite on anything as it unites on Islam. When the Ummah relied on lineage and tribes, it was divided, as Allah Blessed and Exalted mentioned regarding what He bestowed upon the Muslims: that they were on the brink of a pit of the Fire, and He saved them from it. The Muslims were also divided, but by the grace of Allah they became brothers. It is not possible for Muslims to unite on anything other than the religion of Islam; they cannot unite on nationality. For this reason, we consider that holding fast to nationalism has not benefited the Ummah in any way. In fact, the Ummah was torn apart at the very moment it should have been cohesive. At the moment when the wise should have taken the foolish by the hand, we found it divided and torn apart, becoming a cause of mockery for the enemies. Even the enemies of this nationalism began to laugh at it before the world, saying: "Look at them, they have torn themselves apart and divided, and some of them are killing some, and some are taking some as captives." Undoubtedly, this is among the lessons from which we must take heed, and our principle must be to rally around holding fast to Islam, and not to anything else, so that we may be one Ummah, with no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab except by the taqwa of Allah Mighty and Majestic.
He says that there are things unknown to many people, which are mentioned or heard of by name, but their meaning was not known until this disaster occurred. Then people came to know the meanings of these terms and knew how to prepare to confront those who possess them. This is undoubtedly a good fruit. Please, go ahead.
