The Obligation of the Muslim Ummah Toward the Qur'an and Islam, and a Warning Against Division and Factionalism
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : O my Muslim brothers, it is obligatory for the Muslim ummah (the Muslim community) to be as Allah Mighty and Majestic commanded them: [Ali 'Imran 3:103] [Ali 'Imran 3:103]. So what is the rope of Allah? Some scholars said: "The rope of Allah is the Qur'an". And some scholars said: "The rope of Allah is Islam". Both are correct. For the Qur'an encompasses all of Islam, as the Exalted said: [An-Nahl 16:89]. And Islam is also the rope of Allah because it leads to Allah Mighty and Majestic. So it is obligatory for the Muslim ummah to hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and not to divide, not to divide into factions that misguide one another, for this is among the causes of failure and abandonment, as Allah the Exalted said, addressing the best of generations from this ummah: Allah the Exalted says: [Ali 'Imran 3:152]. The point of this verse is His saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:152]. And it is very regrettable for us to see the Muslim ummah today divided into factions that misguide one another and deny one another in matters in which it was obligatory for them to gather to discuss them, so that they would agree upon them and so that the proof would be established against the one who contradicted the truth, for the one who contradicts the truth may have done so because he did not know the truth. And if it had been discussed with him, he would have returned to it. So it is necessary that the Muslim ummah gathers upon the rope of Allah Mighty and Majestic [Ali 'Imran 3:103]. If the Muslim ummah divides, its prestige falls among the nations, and it will have no entity to hold onto and no foundation to rely upon, so the enemies will not fear it. In fact, we know from the policies of the enemies that they are trying their utmost to divide the Muslim community. The enemies are making every effort to divide the Muslim community because they know that if the Muslim ummah were to unite upon the religion of Allah, not upon what their desires dictate, but upon the religion of Allah... their thrones would be toppled and their states would be overthrown.
