Issue: The ruling on a person in i'tikaf (spiritual retreat in the mosque) leaving his mosque for another mosque.

The Shaykh : First, it is not permissible for the person in i'tikaf to leave the mosque in which he is performing i'tikaf for another mosque, except if he is performing i'tikaf in a mosque where the Friday prayer is not held. In that case, he leaves on Friday to the mosque where the Friday prayer is held. As for leaving from one mosque to another, such as if the second mosque has a larger congregation or its imam has a better recitation than the imam in his mosque, this is not permissible.
