A word by the Shaykh regarding the interpretation of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (O you who believe, do not put [anything] before Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for what follows, we are meeting tonight, on the night of the twenty-fifth of Ramadan in the year 1411, on the roof of al-Masjid al-Haram for the fifth time. We ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, to make this meeting of ours a blessed and beneficial one. O my brothers, it has been our custom to speak about what Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has made easy for us to discuss from some of what we have heard from the recitation of our brothers, our imams, in this mosque.

The Shaykh : And we have chosen tonight to speak about the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(1) O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (2) O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not.
[Al-Hujurat 49:1-2]
