The meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This verse:
O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا ترفعوا أصواتكم فوق الصوت النبي
[Al-Hujurat 49:2]
means that you should not make your voice louder than the voice of the Messenger. If the Messenger is speaking to you in a low voice, then make your voice lower than his when addressing him; do not make it louder than his.
