The Second Benefit: The Prohibition of Religious Innovations in the Religion.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And from this verse is taken the prohibition of religious innovations in the religion. From where is it taken? Please.
The student: From the saying of Allah the Exalted:
do not anticipate لا تقدموا

The Shaykh : For the innovator is one who places himself before Allah and His Messenger. Well done. The point is that the innovator legislates in the religion of Allah what is not part of it, so the implication of his state is that the Shari'ah is deficient, because this is a form of worship that it did not bring, and thus it would be deficient. For this reason, religious innovations are considered among the most dangerous things for a person's religion, among the most dangerous things, because their content and implications are extremely severe. Innovating in the religion of Allah contradicts the saying of Allah (Mighty and Majestic):
This day I have perfected for you your religion اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
When is "today"? Which day? The Day of 'Arafah, in the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), during the Farewell Pilgrimage. "I have perfected for you your religion." There is nothing in the religion that is not complete. So, do we need, after this verse, anything by which we worship Allah that is not found in the Shari'ah? Absolutely not, we do not need it. So whoever innovates in the religion, his innovation completely contradicts the content of this verse. And if the innovator knew the great danger in his innovation, he would be more averse to it than a person is averse to a lion.
