Issue: If you see a man eating during the day in Ramadan while forgetting, do you remind him or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If you see a person drinking and you know that he is fasting—after I said nothing, my brother—do you remind him or not?
The student: You remind him.

The Shaykh : Okay, and what is the evidence?
The student:
cooperate in righteousness and piety وتعاونوا على البر والتقوى
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]

The Shaykh : Okay, rest assured, if you see him, I will remind him, based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
cooperate in righteousness and piety وتعاونوا على البر والتقوى
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
And it may also be derived from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
If you forget فإذا نسيت
What is it?
Then remind me فذكروني
When he (peace and blessings be upon him) forgot one day in prayer, he said:
but I am a human being like you and liable to forget like you. So if I forget remind me إنما أنا بشر مثلكم أنسى كما تنسون فإذا نسيت فذكروني
Sahih al-Bukhari 401
But some of the common people
- O my brothers -
Some of the common people say, "Do not remind him; do not prevent the sustenance that Allah has brought to him." Yes, we say, yes, I do not prevent the sustenance that Allah has brought to him. So I say, what he drank before being reminded does not harm him. As for me, if I find my brother drinking while he is fasting and I do not inform him
Okay, and this also leads us to an issue where a person says, "A cat pounced on the meat, took it, and ran away with it. Is it permissible for me to chase it and take my meat from it, or do I say, 'This is sustenance that Allah has brought to him,' and leave it? What do you say? Yes, who will answer? Please."
The student: I chase it and take it.

The Shaykh : You take it? But let no one say, "This is sustenance that Allah has brought to him, and the cat has taken its sustenance." What?
The student: The original state is its continuation; the original state is ownership.

The Shaykh : Correct, and he is an oppressor and a transgressor, so then
The student:
but do not cooperate in sin and aggression ولا تعاونوا على الإثم والعدوان
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]

The Shaykh : He does not commit a sin. If he ate it all, there is no sin on him. But the point is that he is a transgressor and an oppressor, so I have the right to take it from him. Therefore, rest assured
