Ruling on reminding a fasting person who eats or drinks out of forgetfulness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
ً
Your Eminence! Is it better, if I see a fasting person about to eat or drink while he is forgetful, to remind him or to leave him alone, since it is Allah who feeds him and gives him drink?

If you see a fasting person eating or drinking out of forgetfulness, remind him and say: “You are fasting.” If you see a person standing up for the fifth rak'ah in the midday prayer, alert him. If you see a person praying in a direction other than the qiblah, direct him;Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim) and he said: (The believer to the believer is like a building, each part strengthening the other) and Allah the Exalted said:
And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
[Al-Ma'idah: 2] So if we see any person doing something that corrupts his worship, it is obligatory for us to remind him, even if the mouthful is in his mouth, we remind him so that he may spit it out.

The questioner: Your Eminence! I have heard them say: We leave him to eat and drink, for Allah has fed him and given him drink? The Shaykh: The one who says this is ignorant; because Allah fed him and gave him drink in consideration of his own state, since he is forgetful. But you are aware, so you must alert him. This is like the one who says: If you see a cat taking a person's pigeon, do not rescue it from it, because this is the cat's provision. Is this correct? No.
