Issue: How did Allah affirm harm for him, when no one among His creation can harm him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Or pointing to some of what came in it. We conclude this research with a question: How did Allah, Mighty and Majestic, affirm harm for him, when He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is not harmed by anyone among His creation? No one among His creation ever harms Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and the disobedience of the disobedient does not harm Him. So how is harm affirmed when harm is absent? The answer to this is to say: Harm does not necessarily follow from annoyance; annoyance does not necessarily lead to harm. I give you an example that makes this clear: A person is annoyed by a bad smell, but does it harm him? No. He is annoyed to hear an offensive word, but it does not harm him. So harm does not necessarily follow from annoyance. Thus, the son of Adam annoys Allah by cursing time, but it does not harm Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in any way, because Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is not harmed by the disobedience of the disobedient, just as He is not benefited by the obedience of the obedient.
