Discussion of the dual name of Allah, al-Nafi' al-Darr (The Beneficial, The Harmful), and clarification that al-Nafi' may be used alone, unlike al-Darr

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Like al-Darr, who is also al-Nafi', and as He has both attributes"
Al-Darr and al-Nafi' are also among the dual attributes that are not mentioned one without the other. If you said only al-Darr, it would imply a deficiency, namely that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is described as causing harm absolutely. But if you say al-Darr al-Nafi', the meaning becomes: He is the One of complete control and authority; He causes harm and He benefits.
As for saying al-Nafi' alone, it appears there is no harm in it, because the cause for concern is absent.
