Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"This, and the only thing to be guarded against is that it be said: *** With our God, there is a second god"
This is shirk; this is the thing to be guarded against. As for saying that Allah is One, connected with the attributes befitting Him, that is not a thing to be guarded against. The thing to be guarded against is making another god alongside Allah.
"Or that He be denied His attributes of perfection *** These two are things to be guarded against and prohibited"
What are they? Shirk, and the second is ta'til. And his saying: "things to be guarded against"
means that one must guard against them. And his saying: "prohibited"
means that they are forbidden by the Shari'ah, and also by reason. For reason has indicated that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is connected with the attributes of perfection and that He has no partner in that.
