Explanation of the Book of Prayer-04

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And from Abu Mahdhura (may Allah be pleased with him)
The Prophet (ﷺ) liked his voice, so he taught him the Adhan (call to prayer). أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أعجبه صوته فعلمه الأذان
Bulugh al-Maram 2:43
"
Was pleased with it أعجبه
That is: he approved of it. The word "was pleased with" (a'jaba) carries the meaning of approval. From this is the saying of Aisha:
Allah’s Messenger (rad) loved to begin with the right while putting on his shoes, combing his hair, in his purification and in all his affairs كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يعجبه التيمن في تنعله وترجله وطهوره وفي شأنه كله
Bulugh al-Maram 44
So he taught him the adhan فعلمه الأذان
Why did he teach him? So that he would call to prayer. It is well known that he taught him the adhan so that he would call to prayer.
