Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"As His elevation, Glorified is He, above the heavens*** The Most High, rather above every place"
Yes, this is among the attributes of perfection: elevation. The reason for this is that elevation is an attribute of perfection, so it must be affirmed for Allah. Another reason is that the opposite of elevation is lowness, and lowness is a deficiency, and Allah the Exalted is free from deficiency. He said:
"He is the Most High by His essence, Glorified is He*** For it is impossible for the opposite of this to be true, by clear proof"
Yes, it is impossible that He not be elevated by His essence, because if we do not say He is elevated by His essence, O Salman, it follows that either He is in every place or He has no place, and both of these are impossible. For this reason, he said: "For it is impossible for the opposite of this to be true", meaning the opposite of His elevation by His essence. And His elevation by His essence remains established by the requirement of reason. It has passed us that it is indicated by hearing, reason, and fitrah (the innate natural disposition), is that not so? And by consensus, and hearing is the Book and the Sunnah. So the evidence is five: the Book, the Sunnah, consensus, reason, and fitrah, all of which indicate the elevation of Allah the Exalted by His essence.
