(Discussion of the name of Allah al-Wahhab, its meaning, and its evidence) And likewise, al-Wahhab is among His names*** So look at His gifts throughout the ages, the people of the highest heavens and the earth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : These are two names of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), namely al-Wahhab and al-Fattah. As for al-Wahhab, He is the One who gives abundantly; it is a form of exaggeration in one respect, and a name of attribution in another. The author says:
"And likewise, al-Wahhab is among His names *** So look at His gifts throughout the ages"
If we look at His gifts throughout the ages, we would find that they are innumerable. This name exists in the Qur'an with this exact wording:
[Who say], "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower. ربنا لا تُزغ قلوبنا بعد إذ هديتنا وهب لنا من لدنك رحمة إنك أنت الوهاب
[Ali 'Imran 3:8]
and it also exists in practice, as in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males. يهب لمن يشاء إناثا ويهب لمن يشاء الذكور
[Ash-Shuraa 42:49]

He also says:
"The people of the highest heavens and the earth, from*** those gifts they cannot be separated"
And as the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, no one is free from the gift of Allah for even a moment; if anyone were free from the gifts of Allah for even a moment, he would perish.
