The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: {And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them and leave those who distort His names. They will be recompensed for what they used to do}

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We have previously stated that all the names of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) are attributes of praise, and that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) threatened those who distort them, saying:
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names ولله الأسماء الحسنى فادعوه بها وذروا الذين يلحدون في أسمائه
[Al-A'raf 7:180]
. This command is one of threat, like His saying
Leave Me with the one I created alone ذرني و من خلقت وحيدا
[Al-Muddaththir 74:11]
, meaning "I will take revenge on him." Similarly,
And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names وذروا الذين يلحدون في أسمائه
[Al-A'raf 7:180]
means "Leave them to Me, for I will punish them." And for this reason, He said:
They will be recompensed for what they have been doing. سيجزون ما كانوا يعملون
[Al-A'raf 7:180]
.
The author says:
"Beware of distorting them, for indeed it is".
And we have previously analyzed the grammar of "Iyyaka" and said that the scholars of grammar call it a warning.
"Beware of distorting them, for indeed it is disbelief. May Allah protect us from disbelief"
Meaning: Distorting the names of Allah is disbelief, and then the author sought refuge in his Lord (Mighty and Majestic) from disbelief.
