A question regarding the poet's verse: "Implementing both of them or its opposite, or abolishing reason; what is this but impossible?"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned ... and mentioned the way of implementing reason and what he mentioned regarding the way of the first two ... meaning implementing both of them and its opposite.

The Shaykh : Meaning, if ... meaning the rational division, the rational division is either that it implements both matters, and this is impossible in the case of contradiction.

The questioner : How is it impossible?

The Shaykh : If two pieces of evidence contradict each other, is it possible to implement both of them?

The questioner : Contradictories cannot coexist.

The Shaykh : So necessarily, you implement one of them; implementing both is not possible. So, you neglect both of them. Is that possible? Or its opposite, implementing both of them and its opposite.

The questioner : Meaning, this is not possible.

The Shaykh : Not possible, or you abolish reason; this is not possible.
As for the first, it is due to the impossibility of the coexistence of contradictories; and the second, due to the impossibility of the non-existence of contradictories; and the third, because reason cannot be abolished.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, and what is it?

The questioner : And it is a man ... if reason were a guide for all matters, there would be no need for messengers.

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) sent the messengers.

The Shaykh : Yes, he says: meaning, if we said that reason is a proof, what is the need for messengers?? If we said that reason is a proof, there is no need for messengers, and this is correct, this is correct. If we said that reason is a proof, then the sending of messengers has no benefit, because transmitted knowledge is abolished when it contradicts reason. Yes, yes. Read, and there they will be humiliated.
The reader: "And there they will be humiliated, the atheists, and he who denies atheism will be rewarded, then with forgiveness".
