Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then he said, a piece of advice from a sincere person—may Allah reward him with good: "Do not let your alienation among people distress you*** For people are like the dead in their reckoning".
Yes, in their reckoning? In their reckoning, in their reckoning. Yes. He says: "Do not let your alienation among people distress you", meaning do not feel alienated if you are a stranger among people. If people are open sinners and you are obedient, you are a stranger. If people are in a state of denial of the divine attributes and you are affirming [the attributes], you are a stranger. Do not feel alienated by this, for ahead of you is a companionship that has no alienation. But if you find companionship with people in disobedience to the Shari'ah, that is a companionship followed by a long alienation. The alienation now among the strangers will pass, and it is only a moment, as the author said:
"So be patient a little, it is only a moment" and then it will end. But the whole matter lies in the companionship after this alienation. For this reason he said:
"For people are like the dead in their reckoning, or among the living". Its meaning is either that the people are dead in the shrouds of the living, or that the people are dead in their reckoning, their reckoning being that of the dead, dead hearts that do not understand or realize.
"Or have you not known that the People of the Sunnah*** are truly the strangers in every age". O Allah, make us among these strangers.
Strangers in reality, the strangers of the Sunnah, the strangers of the Sunnah, yes, in every age.
