The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author stated in explaining the rights that belong to Allah alone, those that belong to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) alone, and those that belong to both Allah and the Messenger, he said:
"And likewise worship and our seeking help from Him" meaning by Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Worship is specific to Allah; we do not worship anyone other than Him. Seeking help from Allah means we do not seek help from anyone other than Him. However, this refers to absolute seeking of help based on absolute reliance; this is only done with Allah. As for seeking help from what a person can do in this world, that is permissible. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1009 And people have continued to seek help from one another. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ma'idah 5:2] But there is a difference between seeking help from Allah, which is worship and total reliance on Allah, and seeking help from a created being, where you see that he is only participating with you in this work. So the author’s statement:
"Worship and our seeking help from Him"
He added this to our seeking help from Allah, which is a specific type of seeking help, not like our seeking help from a created being.
"You alone we worship; these are two types of tawhid"
in the Qur'an in the Qur'an. We declare the oneness of Allah through worship and we declare His oneness through seeking help. As for worship, it is absolute. As for seeking help, we seek help from created beings in what they are capable of, but our seeking help from a created being is not like our seeking help from the Creator. He said:
"Upon them the entirety of existence is established*** the world and the Hereafter, how excellent are these two pillars"
"Upon them" means upon worship and seeking help the entirety of existence is established, because existence is established by truth, and nothing is more truthful than our worship of Allah and our seeking help from Him. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said regarding if they followed their desires instead of the truth:[Al-Mu'minun 23:71] So by truth the heavens and the earth are established, and by falsehood the heavens and the earth are corrupted. For this reason he said:
"Upon them the entirety of existence is established*** the world and the Hereafter, how excellent are these two pillars".
