(Explanation of the Messenger of Allah’s prohibition of exaggeration in his praise, and the ignorance of the Christians and those similar to them among the misguided sects) And by Allah, nothing pleases Him from us except *** sincerity and submitting to the judgment of the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And by Allah, nothing pleases Him from us except *** sincerity and submitting to the judgment of the Qur'an"
Yes, and this is known from his guidance and his Sunnah that He does not accept from us anything but sincerity to Allah and submitting to the judgment of His Shari'ah.
"And He certainly forbade this creation from exaggerating in His praise *** the action of the Christians"
This means He forbade us from exaggerating in His praise. He said:
Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary لا تطروني كما أطرت النصارى المسيح ابن مريم
Sahih al-Bukhari 3445
meaning, do not exaggerate in [praising me] as the Christians exaggerated. And his saying: "the worshippers of the crosses" means that the Christians worship the cross. This is part of their foolishness and ignorance. The cross is the one upon which their Prophet was crucified, according to their claim. Reason dictates that if they saw the cross, they would break it. Why? Because their Prophet was crucified upon it. So it would be reasonable for them to be angry at this thing upon which their Prophet was crucified and to break it. But due to their ignorance, misguidance, and foolishness, they sanctified it and worshipped it, may Allah protect us from that. And Allah is truthful in that they are misguided, not those upon whom is the anger, nor the misguided. Yes.
