regarding the beliefs of the Christians.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The verse ...
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three."
[Al-Ma'idah 5:73]
and the second verse
They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary
[Al-Ma'idah 5:17]
and the third
and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah."
[At-Tawbah 9:30]
these are three verses about the types of current Christian beliefs. Here is a verse in Surat al-Ma'idah where Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, asks 'Isa ibn Maryam
did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'
[Al-Ma'idah 5:116]
Is this a fourth type, meaning, of their beliefs?

The Shaykh : They are all one type.

The questioner : It is disbelief, yes, but...

The Shaykh : All of them, these characteristics are realized in every Christian, not just a Christian like this and a Christian like that. Three, then a fourth, as mentioned in the last verse. No, the one who says
Allah is the third of three
[Al-Ma'idah 5:73]
is the one who worships al-Masih and Maryam, and the one who says
Allah is the third of three
[Al-Ma'idah 5:73]
is the one who says
The Messiah is the son of Allah
[At-Tawbah 9:30]
What is confusing you? There is no confusion.

The questioner : The three say the Holy Spirit, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. So here came
Take me and my mother.
So here they considered a fourth deity.

The Shaykh : No, there is no deity here like their philosophy that you know, that Allah is one but three, Allah, may Allah protect us from that, and the transmitter of disbelief is not a disbeliever composed of the Lord, al-Masih, and the Holy Spirit. But the verse that says
did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities
[Al-Ma'idah 5:116]
meaning two worshipped ones
other than Allah من دون الله
[Al-Baqarah 2:23]
does not contradict their belief that Allah is composed of three persons for them. So there is absolutely no contradiction between one verse and another. But I feel that our conversation is still, you are still far from my advice.

The questioner : Why?

The Shaykh : Because you are dealing with people, meaning, and you want to argue with them, and you do not have the required weapon.

The questioner : No, no, I do not argue with the Christians. I opened the Qur'an in Surat al-Ma'idah and found these verses. I mean, I did not argue; I heard the advice that since you spoke about ... Brother Abu 'Abdullah, if Allah wills, took us by the advice.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good.
