Explaining that the people of the Sunnah take the truth wherever it is found, whether from al-Ash'ari or others, and explaining the denial by the Asha'irah of the elevation of Allah, even though al-Ash'ari explicitly affirmed the elevation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) explains that we agree with the truth wherever it is found, whether it comes from al-Ash'ari or from others. He says:
"This, and we differed from him in the Qur'an *** just as you differ regarding the 'above' of the Most Merciful"
Meaning: Just as you differed from him regarding the "above" of the Most Merciful, we differed from him in the Qur'an. Because he (may Allah have mercy on him) held that the speech of Allah is the meaning that subsists in itself, the mental speech. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) previously mentioned that Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah refuted him from ninety angles.
"*** just as you differ from him regarding the 'above' of the Most Merciful"
He believes in the elevation of Allah above the creation, while you deny it. Because the Asha'irah say: Allah is not above the world, nor below the world, nor to the right of the world, nor to the left of the world, nor connected, nor separate, nor distinct, nor adjacent. Where is He? Nothing. But he (may Allah have mercy on him), al-Ash'ari, said and explicitly affirmed that Allah is above His heavens. He said:
"So al-Ash'ari explicitly affirmed rising above the Throne *** and the elevation with the utmost clarity"
The Asha'irah do not say this or that. They do not believe in rising above the Throne in its true meaning, nor do they believe in the elevation of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But al-Ash'ari, whom they claim to follow, believes in rising above the Throne and the elevation.
