The hadith states (Indeed, Allah is the Maker of every craft), and in another narration (the Creator...), so is "Maker" one of the names of Allah, such that one might be called, for example, "Abd al-Sani"?

The questioner : The hadith states:
Indeed, Allah is the Maker of every craft إن الله صانع كل صنعة
and in another narration:
The Creator of every craft خالق كل صنعة
So is "Maker" one of the names of Allah, such that one might be called, for example, "Abd al-Sani"?

The Shaykh : How is the hadith?

The questioner : It is in *Sahih al-Jami'*:
Indeed, Allah is the Maker of every craft إن الله صانع كل صنعة
and in the margin it is written: and in another narration:
The Creator خالق
?

The Shaykh : Here, "Maker" came as an attribute, and it is not permissible to derive from it the name "The Maker," unlike "The Creator," because among His names, (Glorified and Exalted is He), is "The Creator." "Maker of every craft" is like His saying, (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners. ومكروا ومكر الله والله خير الماكرين
[Ali 'Imran 3:54]
So, "the best of the schemers" does not lead to deriving a name like "Schemer" or "Schemer" or the like. Similarly, "Maker of every craft" does not lead to deriving a name from it, so one does not say of Allah "The Maker" as is the case with the philosophers. Yes, that is correct. Please, go ahead.
Ali Hasan: The narration mentioned by the brother is authentic; al-Suyuti included it in *al-Jami'*. But when you published it in *al-Silsilah al-Sahihah*, you stated that the stronger position is "Creator and He makes," and you provided the evidence for this. I requested "Maker," which appears in a narration I came across in *al-Muhammali*, but it contradicts most of the other narrations!

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good. This is also a stronger source. Yes, Abu 'Adnan, where did your enthusiasm go?
Abu 'Adnan: By Allah, may Allah reward you with good. You have satisfied us.

The Shaykh : I see you are dozing off. Let us move on.
