The Jurisprudence of the Hadith (There is no bad omen except in three things: the mount, the woman, and the house).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The second question. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said
There is no bad omen except in three things: the mount, the woman, and the house. لا شؤم إلا في ثلاث الدابة والمرأة والبيت
Naturally, this is understood by many young people to mean that it is permissible for one to take a bad omen from a woman, and so on. I read a book for you that explains this issue. We ask you, even if only briefly, may Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : Be assured of all good.
Mashhur Hasan: The brothers mentioned the report of Ibn Abbas and Abdullah ibn Shuqayq in *Sahih Muslim*, where he said, "May your mother be bereaved of you," which does not imply leaving the congregational prayer, whether the mosque is near or far, by understanding, because he delayed the prayer from its time for the sake of knowledge, so it is even more so that he would leave the congregational prayer?

The Shaykh : No, the opposite. Praying at the beginning of the time is recommended, and praying in the mosque is obligatory.
Mashhur Hasan: Our Shaykh, it is leaving the prayer from its time entirely, and that is what Muslim translated, and Muslim placed the combining of the two prayers in the same hadith
It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed prayer on a reed mat.” صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثمانية
Sunan Ibn Majah 1029Sahih (Darussalam)
.

The Shaykh : No, no. The incident is the one where it was said to him, "Prayer, prayer," and he said, "Woe to you, do you teach me prayer?" Here there is no text that he combined, but rather that the prayer time arrived and he was reminded of it, so he said, "Woe to you, do you teach me prayer?" And it is mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) combined, but it is not in it that he combined in the incident. Clear.
Mashhur Hasan: Clear.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good. As for the answer, as you hoped, briefly, it is that this hadith is concise, and the wording that many narrations agreed upon is in the wording
If there were a bad omen in anything, it would be in three things. لو كان الشؤم في شيء لكان في ثلاث
If there were a bad omen, and this negates the bad omen. Please.
