A Discussion on Hasan Habnaki

Al-Halabi : There is a matter that reminded me of your statement. I know some of the shaykhs who are jurists. It reminded me of something a brother mentioned to me. One of our brothers is studying at the college, the College of Da'wah affiliated with the poor one, may Allah have mercy on him. He mentions to me some of the things that happen there. He says, "The poor one, may Allah have mercy on him, tells a story about"The Shaykh : Hasan Habnaki. And here is the point, meaning, because of your knowledge and closeness, or something like that. He says, "Muhammad Najib al-Mu'ti was hearing a lot about"The Shaykh : Hasan Habnaki, and that he was such and such, and he didn't know what it was, and that he was a scholar who memorized and understood. He said, "So I prepared in my mind one hundred questions for al-Mu'ti. I wanted to test"The Shaykh : Hasan Habnaki with these one hundred questions as an examination. He said, "So he came to the lesson, and he came to"The Shaykh : AndThe Shaykh : In the lesson, soThe Shaykh : He interrupted the lesson and began answering the questions, one after another, until he finished the one hundred questions. When this speech ended, of course, the poor one, may Allah have mercy on him, is telling the story. He says that when he finished listing the one hundred answers to the one hundred questions,The Shaykh : Muhammad Najib al-Mu'ti came and acknowledged it. He said, "O Shaykh, forgive me. My intention was that I wanted to learn, and I was such and such." He said, "So he forgave him, and the matter did not end there. He said, "So he took him"The Shaykh : Afterwards, they formed a companionship with each other. They went to visit the grave of Imam al-Nawawi. He said, "In the middle of the way, as you say, there was asphalt, but the end of the road, near the mosque, was stones, and the car could not go. So they stopped it halfway. He said, "They returned after a while to the driver. May Allah reward him with good."The Shaykh : May Allah have mercy on Imam al-Nawawi. He did not fall short with us. He came to us to the middle of the road to shake our hands and greet us.
