In the Place and Its Example

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The place remains. A man performed i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) in the last ten days in his house. A man performed i'tikaf in the last ten days in his house. Brother? Yes! Is his i'tikaf accepted and does he receive the reward of one who performs i'tikaf? Why?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : No, in the last ten days.
The student: In the last ten days?

The Shaykh : Yes, in the last ten days of Ramadan, because he differed regarding the place. Where is the place for i'tikaf?
The student: In the mosque.

The Shaykh : In the mosque. The place for i'tikaf is in the mosque.
as long as you are staying for worship in the mosques وأنتم عاكفون في المساجد
[Al-Baqarah 2:187]
Thus is the verse. So if he performed i'tikaf in his house, it is not accepted, because he contradicted the Shari'ah regarding the place. Well done.
So worship is not in accordance with the Shari'ah unless it agrees with the Shari'ah in six matters, and you heard them and mentioned what constitutes a contradiction of them.
Now, bid'ah (religious innovation) in the religion of Allah, in creed, in speech, in action, is it accepted or not accepted? Bid'ah?
We do not accept the left hand. May Allah reward you with good. We do not accept your answer because you raised your left hand. It is better to raise the right hand.
The student: Bid'ah is not accepted.

The Shaykh : Bid'ah is not accepted. Perfect. Rest now.
