The Shaykh : I would like to offer advice to our brothers who smoke. Our brothers who smoke, without a doubt, will abstain from smoking during the day. No, Abu 'Abd al-'Aziz, they are our brothers, my brother. No, may Allah guide the brothers of Allah. Well, we will return to the statement of our brother Abu 'Abd al-'Aziz, if Allah wills. I say: They will not smoke during the day, so half the time they will be abstaining. So we say: Be patient at night, occupy yourselves, do any work that diverts you from this forbidden drinking. If they occupy themselves at night and thirty nights pass without them smoking, I guarantee them that Allah will deliver them from this foul drink, if they are sincere in their intention for Allah. Because smoking is difficult to quit except for a person with strong determination. A person quits it all at once if he has strong determination and faith in Allah, as has happened to many people whom Allah granted guidance, and they quit it. So I say: Let our brothers who smoke take advantage of this opportunity so that Ramadan ends and Allah has granted them the leaving of the forbidden.
