What is the prayer of the awabin, what is the evidence for it, and how many rak'ahs does it consist of?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : You are asking about the prayer of the awabin, the evidence for it, and how many rak'ahs it is prayed in?

The Shaykh : The prayer of the awabin is the Dhuha prayer when it is delayed until the sun becomes scorching hot, as mentioned in the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Sahih Muslim. It is the Dhuha prayer when delayed until the end of its time, and it does not differ from other prayers in what is recited in it or what is supplicated in it.
It has no fixed limit; a person may pray two rak'ahs, or four rak'ahs with two taslims, or six rak'ahs with three taslims, and so on. The matter is broad in terms of the number.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
