What is the ruling on blood coming out of the mouth after performing wudu, whether with a miswak or without one?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on blood coming out of the mouth after performing wudu, whether with a miswak or without one?

The Shaykh : Blood coming out of the mouth after performing wudu does not invalidate the wudu. In fact, if a large or small amount of blood comes out from anywhere other than the mouth, it does not invalidate the wudu, except for what comes out of the two passages, the front or the back, which does invalidate the wudu. However, if blood comes out of the mouth, it is not permissible to swallow it, as Allah the Exalted said:
Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّمُ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
.
Know that everything that comes out of the body, except for urine, feces, and wind—which come out of the two passages, meaning these three—does not invalidate the wudu. A person may undergo cupping and his wudu will not be invalidated; his nose may bleed and his wudu will not be invalidated; his foot may be cut and his wudu will not be invalidated. This is because there is no evidence that the wudu is invalidated by anything coming out of the body other than what comes out of the two passages. And if there is no evidence, the original state is that the purity remains as it is, because it was established by a legal proof from the Shari'ah, and what is established by a legal proof from the Shari'ah is not invalidated except by a legal proof from the Shari'ah.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
