Does the Friday prayer take the place of the midday prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner says: You said, may Allah preserve you, that one does not combine the prayer after Jumu'ah, meaning the 'Asr prayer, with it. The question is: does not Jumu'ah take the place of the midday prayer?

The Shaykh : No, Jumu'ah does not take the place of the midday prayer. The principle is that it is obligatory to perform the prayer in its proper time, as Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times. إن الصلاة كانت على المؤمنين كتابا موقوتا
[An-Nisa 4:103]
And since Jumu'ah differs from the midday prayer in more than twenty matters, it cannot be equated with the midday prayer in terms of combining, such that the 'Asr prayer is combined with it. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
