The Ruling on Praying Zuhr After the Friday Prayer

Question:
He says: We have a custom, which is: after every Friday prayer, we perform the Zuhr prayer after the prayer, and that is after finishing the Friday prayer. Is this permissible, or is it a religious innovation?

Answer:
Praying Zuhr after the Friday prayer is a religious innovation, with no basis for it. The Salaf of the Ummah did not do it, neither the Companions nor those who came after them from the Salaf of the Ummah. Rather, it is a religious innovation and a type of whispering, as if they are saying: We do not know if the Friday prayer was valid or not. This is a whisper with no basis, and a doubt with no basis.
So it is obligatory for the believer to have good opinion of Allah, and good opinion of what the Muslims before him have been accustomed to, and to avoid doubt that has no basis or reason. So the Friday prayer is sufficient, and praise be to Allah. And Allah did not obligate upon the servants except five prayers in the day and night. So if you pray Zuhr after the Friday prayer, you have made it six, and this is not permissible. So praying Zuhr after the Friday prayer is a religious innovation, and it is never permissible. Yes.
