The midday prayer after the Friday prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number ( 18818 )
Q 1: We are in the town of ( Khasa ), which is under the rule of the Chinese communist government, and some people say that the Friday prayer is not sufficient in such
a non-Muslim town, but that one must pray the midday prayer as a precaution after performing the Friday prayer in congregation. Is this correct, or is the Friday prayer with congregation sufficient?
A 1: The Friday prayer is obligatory upon Muslims residing in a place, whether they are in Muslim lands or in the lands of disbelievers. In this case, the Friday prayer suffices in place of the midday prayer, and praying the midday prayer afterward as a precaution is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, so this practice must be abandoned. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
