The Shaykh : In the 'Isha' prayer, my brother, the end of Surat al-Baqarah, which contains:[Al-Baqarah 2:284] Do you know what the Companions did when this verse was revealed? Their faith was true and strong faith. They knew that they would be held accountable for what is in their souls, whether they revealed it or concealed it. This is difficult, very difficult for a person, that everything that occurs in his heart, Allah will hold him accountable for it. So they came to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), knelt on their knees, and said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2426Sahih (Darussalam) meaning they wanted to express that this is difficult. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They said: We heard, what? And we obeyed, in compliance with the command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When their souls were at ease with this and submitted to it, they said: We heard and we obeyed. Allah revealed His saying, the Exalted: [Al-Baqarah 2:285]. Brother? Did you zone out a little?
