Discussion of the last ten days of Ramadan and what is specific to them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for what I wish to speak about tonight, it is what concerns the last ten days of Ramadan. The last ten days of Ramadan are the best days; they are the best of the ten days of Ramadan, better than the middle ten and better than the first ten. This is because the Night of Decree is in them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform i'tikaf in the first ten days, seeking out the Night of Decree, because the Night of Decree is in Ramadan without a doubt. Then he performed i'tikaf in the middle ten days, seeking out the Night of Decree. Then it was told to him that it is in the last ten days, so he performed i'tikaf in the last ten days, seeking out the Night of Decree.
So the last ten days are distinguished by the fact that the Night of Decree is in them. The evidence for this is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed i'tikaf in the first ten, then the middle ten, then the last ten, and he said:
so he who wants to seek it should seek it in the last week من كان متحريها فليتحرها في العشر الأواخر
Sahih Muslim 1165a
. This is one point.
