The Shaykh : Therefore, it is obligatory for us to be sincere to Allah the Exalted in worship, reliance, and seeking help. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his cousin, 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), while advising him:
Ibn 'Abbas narrated: "I was behind the Prophet(s.a.w) one day when he said: 'O boy! I will teach you a statement: Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek aid, seek Allah's aid. Know that if the entire creation were to gather together to do something to benefit you- you would never get any benefit except that Allah had written for you. And if they were to gather to do something to harm you- you would never be harmed except that Allah had written for you. The pens are lifted and the pages are dried.'"
يا غلام إذا سألت فاسأل الله Do you find an advice more sincere than the advice of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)? Answer: No, no, by Allah. Do you find an advice from a relative to his relative more sincere than the advice of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to his cousin 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas? No. He said to him:

يا غلام إذا سألت فاسأل الله وإذا استعنت فاستعن بالله واعلم أن الأمة The people, all the people
if the entire creation were to gather together to do something to benefit you- you would never get any benefit except that Allah had written for you. And if they were to gather to do something to harm you- you would never be harmed except that Allah had written for you.
أن الأمة لو اجتمعوا على أن ينفعوك بشيء لم ينفعوك إلا بشيء قد كتبه الله لك ولو اجتمعوا على أن يضروك بشيء لم يضروك إلا بشيء قد كتبه الله عليك This indicates that a person should rely on Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and not rely on anyone else, and believe with a faith in which there is no doubt that the matter is in the hand of whom? In the hand of Allah.
