The Meaning of Allah’s Saying: “Indeed, in the creation of the heavens” and Reflecting on the Creation of the Heavens and What Is in Them, Such as the Sun

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth في خلق السماوات والأرض آيات
[Al-Baqarah 2:164]
These great, high, and powerful heavens contain great signs. They contain the sun, the moon, the stars, and other things we do not know. All of this is among the signs of Allah. Look at the sun; this sun that rises from the east and sets in the west—can anyone direct it in the opposite direction? Answer. No. Can anyone return it from the west to the east? No. For this reason, Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, mentioned the one who argued with Ibrahim regarding his Lord, and Ibrahim said to him:
"My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death," he said, "I give life and cause death." Abraham said, "Indeed, Allah brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west." ربي الذي يحي ويميت قال أنا أحيي و أميت قال إبراهيم فإن الله يأتي بالشمس من المشرق فأت بها من المغرب
[Al-Baqarah 2:258]
. So what was the answer?
So the disbeliever was overwhelmed [by astonishment], and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. بهت الذي كفر والله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين
[Al-Baqarah 2:258]
.
