Exegesis of Surat al-Hashr, and a discussion of the Jews who were in Madinah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Pious, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows, we have listened to the recitation of our Imam in the Fajr prayer today, and the brother recited. He told us what he recited?
The student: From Surat al-Hashr.

The Shaykh : From whom? From Surat al-Hashr? That is a mistake. Rest. He recited.
The student: Surat al-Hashr.

The Shaykh : Surat al-Hashr. What is the difference between "from Surat al-Hashr" or "Surat al-Hashr"? Al-Hashr is the whole thing, and "from" indicates a part.
The student: A portion of Surat al-Hashr.

The Shaykh : Well done, may Allah bless you. Did you understand? He recited Surat al-Hashr, and this Surah was revealed concerning Banu Nadir. Banu Nadir is one of the three Jewish tribes that were in Madinah. The tribes in Madinah were three: Banu Quraizah, Banu Qaynuqa, and Banu Nadir. These tribes came from the Levant because they had read in the Torah that a Prophet would be sent whose emergence would be in Makkah and whose migration would be to Madinah. They knew the description of this Prophet and recognized him as they recognize their own sons, and they knew his goal and knew what his outcome would be.
to manifest it over all religion ليظهره على الدين كله
[At-Tawbah 9:33]
. So these tribes gathered in Madinah to support the Prophet who would be sent, whose prophethood would be general and comprehensive.
although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved وكانوا من قبل يستفتحون على الذين كفروا
[Al-Baqarah 2:89]
. But when Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was sent and he was from among the Arabs, they envied the Arabs because the Arabs and the Jews are cousins. The Arabs and the Jews are cousins; the Arabs are the sons of Isma'il and these are the sons of Israel, that is, the sons of Ya'qub, so they are cousins. And enmity often exists between cousins, so they envied the Arabs that this noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would be from among them, so they disbelieved in him. This verse was revealed concerning Banu Nadir. And when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) arrived, he established a covenant between him and these tribes. But they broke the covenant. They broke the covenant. And humiliation befell these covenant-breakers. And whoever wants to know more about that, let him read the books of history.
