The Meaning of the Name of Allah (Al-Malik)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
In this morning some of My worshipers remained as true believers and some became non-believers أصبح من عبادي مؤمن بي وكافر
Sahih al-Bukhari 1038
. And there are many examples of this. Now, what is the meaning of Allah? The scholars said: "The meaning of Allah is the One who possesses divinity over the creation". That is, He is the one who is truly worshipped. So whatever is worshipped besides Him is invalid. As for the worship of Allah, it is the truth. This is the name
He to whom there is no god except Him الذي لا إله إلا هو
This is a negation of shirk (associating partners with Allah), for there is no true object of worship except Allah.
The King الملك
And it is more eloquent than al-Malik (the Owner). This is why it was used when al-Malik was used without al-Malik. But in al-Fatihah,
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. مالك يوم الدين
[Al-Fatihah 1:4]
this is qualified. Even though there is a reading in the seven canonical recitations:
Malik of the Day of Judgment ملك يوم الدين
. But al-Malik is greater because al-Malik means the One who possesses authority. And al-Malik does not mean authority. This is why all of us own things; I own these clothes of mine. And you own your clothes. But are we kings by virtue of our ownership of our clothes? No, because we do not have authority. So al-Malik is greater than al-Malik because it includes ownership and adds to it authority.
