In this verse, among the benefits, first: Allah (Mighty and Majestic) teaching His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to delegate matters to Him, as in His saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:26]. The address directed to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is directed to his Ummah, either through emulation, or because he is the Imam, and the address to the Imam is for him and those who follow him, unless evidence indicates that it is specific to him, in which case it is specific to him. Among the benefits of the noble verse: clarifying the completeness of the Sovereignty and Authority of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), as in His saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:26]. Every sovereignty belongs to Allah as its Owner, and it has been established for us that the intended meaning of “Sovereignty” is either the possessed thing or the genus of sovereignty. Among the benefits of the noble verse: that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) gives sovereignty to whom He wills, as in His saying: . Among its benefits also: that the sovereignty of the created beings is not independent sovereignty, but rather it is by bestowal, as in His saying: . The sovereignty that is by bestowal is undoubtedly deficient compared to the sovereignty of the Bestower. It came in the authentic hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 5355. Among the benefits of the noble verse: affirming the Will of Allah in His saying: . Every matter that Allah coupled with His Will is based on wisdom; whenever He wills it, He wills it, and the evidence for that is His saying: [Al-Insan 76:30]. Among the benefits of the noble verse: the completeness of the Sovereignty and Authority of Allah also in that He forbids sovereignty to whom He wills and takes it away after it has been established from whom He wills, as in His saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:26]. Among the benefits of the noble verse: clarifying also the completeness of the Sovereignty and Authority of Allah by the fact that honor is from Him, [Ali 'Imran 3:26]. However, it has been established for us in the exegesis that honor has what? No, rather that honor has causes, among which is faith, as in His saying: [Al-Munafiqun 63:8]. Among its benefits also: that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is complete in Sovereignty and Authority because He humbles whom He wills, even if he reaches whatever level of human honor he reaches, for the Hand of Allah is above him. No matter how much honor a person reaches, Allah is able to humble him. There are many examples of this, including the story of Pharaoh, for Pharaoh transgressed and tyrannized and said, “I am your Lord, the Most High,” and he boasted of the rivers he had, so Allah destroyed him with what he had boasted of, namely water, by drowning him. ‘Aad were arrogant in the land and said, “Who is stronger than us in power?” So Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) destroyed them with the wind, which is one of the gentlest things, but it is one of the most severe things despite its gentleness. So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) humbles whom He wills. Branching from this benefit: when we know that honor and humiliation are in the Hand of Allah, we do not seek honor except from Him (Mighty and Majestic). For this reason, we say: whoever seeks honor from other than Allah is humbled. So honor is not sought except from Allah. Also branching from this: it is obligatory for the person to constantly seek refuge in Allah from physical and moral humiliation, because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is the One in whose Hand is humiliation; He humbles whom He wills and honors whom He wills.
